I'm inspired by true individuality: spaces that have real character because they’re a direct reflection of the folks who live there. Rooms brimming with color and whimsy and big doses of drama. I love repurposing old things into new and extraordinary things. I love to mix it up: kooky light fixtures with art that takes you into someone else’s adventure. I'm inspired by flea markets, crusty junk shops, questionable thrift stores and NYC curbs that still yield some of the best furnishings I own.
About:
Need help in finding the fabulous in your space? ‘Style Friend’ PJ Mehaffey to the rescue! With the perfect blend of insider expertise and high-energy sass, there’s no decorating dilemma PJ can’t solve. Self taught, his unconventionally chic, cost-conscious decorating approach was kick-started when tackling his very first apartment. Inspired by the high-end looks from home magazines, PJ transformed flea market finds and curbside cast-off’s into glamorous treasures. This same creativity and resourcefulness was perfected during his years as the Style Market Editor of Real Simple magazine. His prop/set styling and interior decorating work can be seen in magazines such as People, Better Homes & Gardens, and Good Housekeeping, and in catalogs such as Pottery Barn, Bed and Bath, and PB Teen. Living in Brooklyn, NY, his apartment has been published in the Design*Sponge At Home Book. PJ regularly shares his love of decorating and dancing (D&D) on his blog, Blog-A-Dazzle!
