Braniff Airways, Manhattan, New York Print by Kerne Erickson at Art.com
An offset lithography printing press gives this fine art print its vivid and sharp appearance. The standardized printing plates and proofing process guarantee that each print displays colors precisely as the artist or publisher intended. Produced on medium weight cover stock, this high-quality reproduction is coated with a silken finish that protects the inks and creates an elegant look. The versatile art print strikes a balance between quality and affordability.
This giclée print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is acid free with a smooth surface.
This fine art Giclee on canvas print has been museum-wrapped around 1.5” wood stretcher bars, and finished with handpainted black edges.

The ordinary plane becomes a palette of bright stripes and jellybean colors when Braniff took it to the skies, pictured nostalgically by Kerne Erickson in “Braniff Airways, Manhattan, New York.” This 1930s view of New York and the newly opened Chrysler Building shows an early version of the plane which revolutionized flying through its faster speeds, luxurious cabins and routes to the Gulf of Mexico. Erickson, painting vintage posters for more than 30 years, meticulously researches the historical accuracy of his work, and in this poster, has replicated the airliner image used on Braniff’s luggage tags, and other items.
