About the Art

Andy Warhol’s pioneering Pop Art defined a decade and a culture, distinguishing him as one of the most influential, creative and prolific artists of the 20th century. Originally the most sought-after commercial artist in New York, Warhol (1923 – 1987) is most known for his multiple images of Campbell’s Soup cans, Coke bottles, dollar bills and celebrities, which exalted the beauty within ordinary objects and familiar images. Working out of a studio called The Factory, he invented the silkscreening process which enabled him to mass produce a single image in his signature style. Warhol was also a talented filmmaker, music producer, commercial illustrator, author and magazine publisher.

Warhol Made Elvis Cool for the Next Generation

By John John

from Dallas, TX

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Great Quality Paper
  • Visually Appealing

Cons

  • Lackluster Colors
  • Smaller Than Expected

Purchase Reason

  • Accent Piece
  • Inspiration

Comments:

I first saw Warhol's ELVIS (or part of it) at the MMA Fort Worth in the 80's. Very striking in person.

Looking for something cool for my living room I found TRIPLE ELVIS.

Without being able to see the print in person, I thought it might be more vibrant and have greater contrast. Art.com framed it and delivered it expertly, so my disappointment had nothing to do with them. It may be down to my choice of frame/cropping.

As time passes I grow to like it more and am convinced that it needs a really good picture light to make it "pop".

Pros

  • It's a Warhol
  • Perfect Size
  • Visually Appealing

Cons

    Purchase Reason

    • Decoration
    • Fill Wall Space
    • Inspiration

    Comments:

My kitchen, dining room and living room are 1 open area. Right when you walk into my apartment, you enter the dining room and I needed artwork for a wall you see directly when you walk in. I always get great feedback from anyone who walks in. And, since Elvis is a distant cousin, I think it adds a family feel.
