About the Art

As the fog rolls in diffusing the light with enchanting allure, photographer William Guion sensitively captures the beauty and grace of mystical, majestic oaks, enhanced by the landscape’s quietude. Guion, a Louisiana native retains his childhood fascination with these elder trees of the American landscape that he shoots throughout the South and the West. A landscape photographer for 20 years, Guion is greatly influenced by the West Coast’s large format black and white of the late 80’s. A sampling of his work has been published in his first book, Heartwood, Meditations on Southern Oaks.

    Comments:

This print is a side piece in a B/W oak tree montage and it fits beautifully. We matted it ourselves in white and framed it in a simple thin black metal frame. We were very pleased and could think of no complaints!
