As though illuminated by fluorescent lights from below, the drifting mists of William Hartshorn’s “California Coast” emanate a mysterious glow under an enchanted full moon. Hartshorn strives to capture a sense of place and inspiration with his work, specializing in moonlit coastal images, wilderness photography and dramatic cityscapes which showcase his breathtaking command of natural lighting. A native Californian, Hartshorn’s photos have appeared in numerous books, magazines, calendars, advertisements and souvenir items, and have been used by the Sierra Club and The Wildnerness Society to raise environmental awareness.
