About the Artwork  
Groundbreaking artist Justin Bua’s cutting-edge artwork, “The D.J.,” boldly conveys Bua’s distinctive Distorted Urban Realism, uniquely melding classical art training with an exaggerated vision of Hip-Hop culture influenced by his turbulent youth in New York city. Mesmerized by the city’s raw, visceral street life, Bua complemented his formal art education with graffiti writing and worldwide break dancing performances. Currently teaching figure drawing at the University of Southern California, Bua speaks a universal language through his innovative portrayals of the underground urban world and its cultural relevance.
