Once again, the framers at Art.com did a beautiful job. The frame is top quality, and the mat is cut perfectly.
I saw this piece in person earlier this year when it was installed in the National Gallery of Art. I had been aware of the piece for many years, but seeing it in person and learning more about it during a corresponding lecture increased my desire to add it to my collection of Pre-Raphaelite art. Unfortunately, the print just doesn't have the same vivid colors as the original. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed by the, for lack of a better word, flatness, of the print by comparison, but that really might just be a result of seeing this stunning work in person. How could anyone possibly translate it to a print and achieve the same result? Can't blame Art.com for that. The bottom line is that the print is great but it doesn't live up to the real thing.
I also wish that the print had been taller by about half a foot--it would be great if there were slightly larger options.
I went for the widest, most ornate burnished gold frame I could find on the site and set the finished product between a pair of vintage syrocco gold sconces against a rich navy wall and the look is perfect.
customer service was very helpful.
Delivery was excellent.
