About the Artwork  
The dramatic beauty and powerful design of Laurie Maitland’s “Symphony in Red and Khaki II” reflect her early theatrical influences. Maitland’s inspiration draws from the vibrant yet rustic colors of nature to form the painting’s terse, kinetic contrasts. Raised in Portsmouth and educated in London, Maitland studied photography, life drawing and set design. She now paints full time and helps run Naked Art Publishing Company. Pairs compellingly with “Symphony in Red and Khaki I.”
