I ordered this print and received a copy that had a printing line down the middle of it. I returned it, explaining the flaw. I received a replacement print that had the same flaw in the same place. After wasting a lot of time on this, I just got a refund. So disappointing.

The artwork, and workmanship are very professional. I've seen other stretched canvasses and this one was exceptionally well done. Could probably have used a second hook as the piece is large and could easily hang askew without a second hook to hold it in place.

A slumbering woman’s swooning repose in a strikingly orange garment strongly awaken an atmosphere of passion and palpable heat in Frederick Leighton’s masterpiece, “Flaming June.” Ironically, this piece, which did not reach its auction price of $140 in 1960, is now considered his most beloved work. President of the Royal Academy for almost 20 years, Leighton (1830 – 1896) was an exceptionally industrious and immensely skilled painter, sculptor, illustrator and writer influenced by the Nazarenes and Italian Renaissance who believed that sincerity was the wellspring of all achievement.

Frederick Leighton (1830 – 1896), whose historical and mythological artwork was influenced by the Nazarenes and the Italian Renaissance, was one of the top Victorian classical painters. Exceptionally hard-working and vastly skilled, Leighton was a painter, sculptor, illustrator and writer who fluently spoke five languages and believed that sincerity was the source of all achievement. Unlike most major 19th century artists, he did not study at the Royal Academy, but was its president for almost 20 years. His decision to shift from historical subjects to mythological ones fortuitously coincided with the public’s interest in Greek culture, and solidified his popularity.
