- The Artist
The woods is portrayed as an otherworldly realm of hushed tranquility where we can contemplate dreams of days gone by, as well as those to come, in David Winston’s “Past Dreams.” Inspired by the natural landscape, Winston depicts much of Pennsylvania’s terrain, as well as foreign lands from Siberia to Greece to Nova Scotia. In 1994, he added computer artistry to his palette, enhancing his photos with subtle digital imagery. His work has been featured in children’s books, calendars, and greeting cards.
The dreamlike, muted beauty of David Winston’s photography emanates from his lifelong love of the natural landscape and human nature. David’s vision has been inspired by the people and panoramas around the globe, equally moved by Pennsylvania’s landscapes and experimenting with computer enhancing. Besides numerous exhibits and best of show awards, Winston’s work has been featured on calendars and cards including those for various non-profit groups. He also contributed photo illustrations to the award-winning children’s book, Life on a Pig Farm. Winston makes his home in Philadelphia.
