Comments:

I ordered this print on-line without the assistance of a c/s agent. There are two issues I want to address.

First, the background of the print is much darker than is presented in the website display. The dark background makes the figure at front left barely discernible. However, having never seen the original painting, I am not qualified to judge the fidelity of the brightness or darkness of the print to the original.

Secondly, the picture hangs in my dining room which receives much light from a picture window. The reflection and glare in the plain glass detracts substantially from our enjoyment of the picture. I wish I had ordered non-glare glass or vinyl. An option to do so was not obvious to me on the website. Had it been so I would have ordered it. The Verona Gold frame material and color are exactly as portrayed on-line. The frame workmanship is absolutely perfect.

Several weeks later I ordered Caravaggio's
"Rest on the Flight into Egypt" with the Verona Gold frame and the non-glare vinyl (with the aid of a c/s agent) and I am wholly delighted with that. I urge everyone to order the non-glare vinyl.

All in all, my first purchase was just a bit disappointing but I think of it as a learning experience. I am completely satisfied with my second purchase and I expect to order again from Art.com in the future. RC

This piece hangs in the dining area and makes a powerful statement as you walk up the stairs. Everyone wants to sit opposite the picture to study it at length.
Because it is darker than imaged the viewer has to stand very close to be able to see the detail.

        Comments:

We saw the original painting in a local museum. I was so moved by it, I had to sit down. While the print does not have quite that effect, when we remodeled recently I decided to purchase the print for our dining room. It is dark; however, I hope a neutral-color mat will help. In the event it does not, it doesn't matter--I will still hang the piece.
