Musical sparks create an inferno of blazing colors and intense motion in German painter Alfred Gockel’s “Full Swing” series. Fascinated by bright colors since childhood, Gockel’s first artwork was published in a German magazine when he was only 8 years old. Later, he studied graphic design, typography and advertising at Munster’s Polytechnic Academy, and then lectured there while freelancing, before becoming a full-time artist in 1981. Founding his own art publishing company in 1983, his signature style of brilliant colors and masterful composition has garnered him acclaim in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Alfred Gockel creates powerfully distinctive abstracts which are alive with rich, primary colors, deep black accents, ebbing and flowing lines, and intensely kinetic motion. Born in Germany, Gockel had his first artwork published when he was 8 years old. Originally studying design, with an emphasis on typography, graphic design and advertising, Gockel later began painting full time in his highly identifiable, signature style. His work ranges from etching to serigraphy, and has been used by the porcelain, carpet and sportswear industries.
