- The Artist
Combining smolderingly radiant natural elements with abstract forms possessing the sheen of satin ribbons, Gregory Williams’ “Reflections” series inventively captures the moment when the early morning sun crests the horizon and sets the world ablaze. Spending much of his time outdoors, Williams is sensitive to the nuances of early morning shadow and light. Expertly capturing deep pools of shadow, with meltingly warm reds, burnt oranges and glistening golds, he passionately express the beauty of daybreak.
Gregory Williams has forged a deep intimacy with nature that emanates from his work. A Michigan native who resides in Northern California, Williams spends much of his time outdoors, and is acutely attuned to the nuances of early morning shadow and light. Working in richly textured, radiant golds and reds expertly offset by deep contrasts and motionless reflections, Williams specializes in portraying the horizon’s hushed daybreak illumination. The morning landscape’s solitude provides him with tranquility, as well as inspiration evident in his art.
