Jan Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” painted with masterly command of color, extraordinary realism and glittering, pearly highlights, is an enigmatic masterpiece which holds similar mysteries as the man who painted her. Very little is known about Vermeer (1632 – 1675), a Dutch artist specializing in lyrical, domestic interior scenes so expressively painted that they transcended the mundane. Although he only produced 35 paintings in his lifetime, Vermeer is considered to be one of the greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age.

              Every time I look at this painting it takes my breath away. I first saw it on the over of the book by the same name as the picture and bekam fascinated by it, checked on your website if it was available and when I saw that it was I bought it. I love the frame I chose too. The painting looks fantastic on my wall and just about everybody makes a comment about it. Art is my passion. Thank you for doing such a good job.
