Suspense Giclee Print by Charles Burton Barber at Art.com
This giclée print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is acid free with a smooth surface.

Victorian artist Charles Burton Barber (1845 – 1894) was considered one of England’s premier genre painters, specializing in realistic, sentimental portraits of dogs with children. After studying at London’s prestigious Academy Schools, he had the privilege of painting Queen Victoria’s favorite canines for almost 25 years. He also painted the pets of other dignitaries, including the Prince of Wales. Barber’s talents extended to illustrating children’s books and photography, as well. He regularly exhibited at the Royal Academy, and was honored with many awards.
