About the Artwork

Revered as Utah’s finest landscape artist, Gary Collins was born in 1936 and has been painting outdoor scenes for nearly his entire life. Capturing the feeling of the scene as well as its appearance through his experimentation with color and light, Collins sensitively expresses these fleeting moments by connecting with the setting while traveling throughout the world. He paints outdoors using both watercolor and oil paints in the Uinted States and moves to France and Italy to paint in the summer.

Comments:

The condo owners on each floor of our building choose 7 works each series on each floor were from one artist and we choose Collins works to decorate our common hallway. This last piece was the companion to another of his works which helped resolve a problem when 2 owners vied for the same piece outside their immediate door.
