About the Artwork  
Canadian artist Dave Danchuk has elevated sawing through wood to an art form. A self-taught scrollsaw artist, Danchuk creates his magnificent neon artworks by cutting up hundreds of small pieces of wood, hand-painting each one with acrylics and gluing them onto a backing board. He intensifies his works’ stunning appearance by ensuring that no two adjacent pieces are the same shade. Danchuk became captivated by color during a visit to Cuba, and is strongly influenced by the artwork of Alex Grey and Salvador Dali.
