Eleanor Holm was an accomplished American swimmer who held several world records when Anton Bruehl photographed her as an 18-year-old in the July 1931 Vanity Fair. She went on to win a gold medal in the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles for the 100-meter backstroke and previously placed 5th in the 1928 Summer Olympics. Holm later played Jane in Tarzan's Revenge in 1938.
