Although known mainly as a stage actress, Helen Menken also appeared as herself in the film 'Stage Door Canteen,' a musical featuring various stage and screen actors. Menken became a star after appearing in the hit 'Seventh Heaven' on Broadway, from 1922 to 1924. Here, she is photographed just prior to departing on tour with the Chicago Shakespearean Repertory Company. Photograph by Charles Sheeler from the October 1931 Vanity Fair.

This photographic print is digitally printed on archival photographic paper resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
