Austrian soprano Maria Jeritza went from singing with the Vienna Court Opera to joining the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1921. In her decade with the Met, Jeritza was praised for her performances in 'Tannhauser,' 'Tosca,' 'Jenufa,' and 'Turandot.' Here, she appears on the occasion of her Met debut.
