Actor Paul Muni received an Academy Award nomination for best actor in 'The Life of Emile Zola,' and later won for 'The Story of Louis Pasteur.' Muni was nominated for a Tony Award in 1955 for the role of Henry Drummond in the play 'Inherit the Wind,' then retired in 1959 after receiving his final Academy Award nomination for 'The Last Angry Man.' He is photographed here by Anton Bruehl in the September 1935 Vanity Fair.
