Photographer Lusha Nelson contributed to Vogue and Vanity Fair from 1933 to 1937. Among his standout subjects were boxing champion Joe Louis, fellow photographer Alfred Stieglitz, and artist Marcel Duchamp, who was a friend of Nelson's. Anton Bruehl took this photograph of Nelson, seen from below and with his somber face partly hidden by shadow. It appeared in the August 1934 Vanity Fair.

This photographic print is digitally printed on archival photographic paper resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
