Gloria Swanson, who for many still embodies the ideal of the Hollywood star, fittingly also portrayed one in her most famous role, that of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard. Long before that performance, however, Swanson had already established her talent on the silent screen in several films by Cecil B. DeMille. This photograph, of Swanson in a scene from the newly released film Three Weeks, was taken by Cecil Beaton and appeared in the April 1934 Vanity Fair.

This photographic print is digitally printed on archival photographic paper resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
