The Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa., outside of Pittsburgh, was designed by Henry Clay Fownes and William Fownes and opened in 1903. In this photo, Stephen Szurlej, Senior Staff Photographer, Golf Digest, captures the infamous 'Church Pews' bunker which comes into play at the third and fourth holes. Oakmont has hosted a number of championships since 1919, and was ranked No. 5 on Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses 2007-08.
