This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Price

Comments:
Sargent's portrait, "Madam X," depicts Virginie Gautreau (Nee Avegno) of Louisiana, later of France. Sargent is said to have thought the portrait to be among his best. The viewing public of the late 19th century believed the painting to be "daring." It is entirely tame by 2013's standards.
The original is large, Appx. 7' X 4'. The framed print bought by this reviewer is much, much smaller. Framed in black and unmatted, the result is striking when viewed up close, mounted at eye level on an off-white wall.
Madame Gautreau was a lady of rare beauty. Sargent captured that beauty outstandingly. So does Art.com's small, framed print as received at this residence.
