Refreshing as a breeze, Alice Dalton Brown’s “Blues Come Through” dreamily conveys the pleasurable sensation of gentle ocean air which blows through gossamer curtains. Dalton Brown, a Contemporary Realist who was born in Pennsylvania and studied art at the Academie Julian in Paris, is known for beautifully detailed work depicting the sublime in ordinary settings, and evoking a striking sense of time and place. Her refreshing, sun-dappled work is perfect for setting a tranquil, romantic mood.
Alice Brown Dalton paints scenes of her own invention that could easily be mistaken for photographs. As a contemporary realist, her keen sense of graphic composition shows in airy ‘through the window’ views and porch settings in exquisite detail and vivid illumination. The overall effect is evocative of a romantic, meditative mood that’s characteristic of her style. Pennsylvania-born Brown Dalton attended the prestigious Academie Julian in Paris and graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio. Now based in N.Y., she’s shown in numerous solo and select group exhibitions throughout the U.S. Her art is included in many museums and private and corporate collections.
