This stretched canvas print is the result of sophisticated digital printing technology in which the image is printed directly onto an artist-grade, 100% cotton canvas. The canvas is then expertly stretched around 1.5" wooden bars and carefully finished with hand-painted edges. An acrylic coating protects the stunning giclee print from dust, moisture and fading. Watermark will not appear on finished product.

- The Artist
Artist John Collier’s style offers beautiful, eloquent expressions of Pre-Raphaelite painting achieved through meticulously descriptive detail, rich color and fine, nearly invisible brushstrokes. His formal artist’s education took place in London under the tutelage of Lawrence Alma-Tadema and Edward Poynter; later he moved to Paris to study with Jean-Paul Laurens. A true perfectionist, Collier (1850 -1934) was committed to the utmost accuracy in his paintings of historical and mythological scenarios, Collier also painted numerous portraits of kings, noblemen, actors and socialites, and was a founding member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. He was not only a painter but also an illustrator, and a published author of three art books.
