This image from the archives of LIFE magazine first appeared on December 15, 1961.
This stretched canvas print is the result of sophisticated digital printing technology in which the image is printed directly onto an artist-grade, 100% cotton canvas. The canvas is then expertly stretched around 1.5" wooden bars and carefully finished with hand-painted edges. An acrylic coating protects the stunning giclee print from dust, moisture and fading. Watermark will not appear on finished product.

I'm from Los Angeles and adore the Golden Age of Hollywood. I'm doing a theme wall of my favorite moments from this era. This photo of black cats hoping for fame in a Hitchcock film is so purrfect. I saved a few bucks too by doing the frameless option Art.com offers. I was worried but am SO pleased. The frame may've been a distraction in hindsight so glad I did it this way. Thx Art.com!
