This aquatint print was produced in a limited edition of 300. It is signed and numbered by the artist.
This fine art print was created using aquatint printing, an intaglio process similar to etching. Intaglio printing is an intensive labor of love in which the artist creates an image with varnish or waxes over a zinc or copper plate, and burns the image into the metal using an acid solution. Inks are applied to the metal plate and each print is pulled by hand. Aquatints differs from traditional etching due to the use of fine rosin particles, which are used to create unique gradiated tones throughout the printed area. Price

Jean Sariano, Algerian/American (1943 - )<br/><br/>Born May 30th, 1943 in Oran, Algeria. Jean Sariano attended the School of Beaux-Arts of Oran the School of Beaux-Arts of Clermont-Ferrand, the School of Beaux-Arts in Paris, Pratt Graphic Center, New York, and finished his studies at the Printmaking Workshop, in New York in 1970.<br/><br/>The contemporary pop characters of Jean Sariano's work are bright and alive, filled with spirit, reflecting the refreshing view of the young.<br/><br/>Jean Sariano has participated in numerous group exhibitions at universities, museums, and galleries, throughout the United States and Europe. He began in 1962 participating in the Salon des Arts Boubonnais, Vichy, France then went on to take part in the Quatrieme Biennale de Paris, Museum of Modern Art, Paris, 1965: "Atelier Chastel", at the Maison des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1967; Biennale Internationale de l'Estampe et del la Gravure, Museum of Modern Art, Paris, 1968, 1970, 1972; the Ferdinand Roten traveling show 1972-1973; and the Biennale Internationale de l'Estampe, Musee Galiera, Paris 1973.
