About the Artwork  
Vibrant bursts of color hurtle with wind-tunnel velocity through the explosive artworks of Max Laigneau. While enlisted in the army during the Algerian War, he painted every evening in his room. Now the artist draws inspiration from visits to museums, French comedy and bohemian Montmartre quarter of Paris though his brilliant colors often eclipse his subject matter. Hailing from Caen, France, Laigneau is now one of the most prominent painters in contemporary figurative art.
