Zelda's city scenes of New York and Paris were painted from memory and are romantic evocations of her happiest times with Scott. In this gouache, Zelda commemorates the "timeless" romance of her daughter, Scottie, who got engaged to Jack under the Biltmore clock, one block from Grand Central Station. Jack was a Navy Ensign in 1943 and Zelda paints him in uniform. Often Zelda indicated street life with symbols: top hats, umbrellas, caps, wine glasses and gloves. In this series she creates riotous worlds, sometimes unstable but full of drama and pageantry. Her compositions are reminiscent of stage sets upon which dancers float above the earth. Original size of "Scottie and Jack Grand Central Time" is 13 3/4" x 17 3/4"
This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.

Like the quality of the paper, we went ahead and ordered the better quality and I'm glad. While it was expensive, it was better than the other art we have ordered from art.com, which seem to be cheaper prints.
Do not think the quality is worth what we paid, I would expect a painting this small to be less expensive.
