Why I Married Julie. Harry Belafonte, acknowledged king of the folk singers and the reluctant king of calypso, shocked many of his female fans when he divorced his wife Margurite and married dancer Julie Robinson. "Why," they asked, "Why did he do it?" to give Harry a chance to answer, EBONY has opened its pages to the singer for the first person piece, "Why I Married Juie" in the July 1957 EBONY. Harry tells how he and his wife drifted apart and of the growing love that developed between him and Julie.
This stretched canvas print is the result of sophisticated digital printing technology in which the image is printed directly onto an artist-grade, 100% cotton canvas. The canvas is then expertly stretched around 1.5" wooden bars and carefully finished with hand-painted edges. An acrylic coating protects the stunning giclée print from dust, moisture and fading.
