TWA Hires First Negro Hostess. Mary E. Tiller, 22, a Kansas city college girl, took a chance on a hometown newspaper ad last August, passed her screenings with fanfare, and became the first Negro to represent a major airline as a hostess. Pretty and personable, she uses hostess training and a candid sense of humor to avert world-be problems aboard TWA planes which transport more than 475,000 passengers monthly (during the summer peak) to 70 U.S. cities and 23 world centers abroad.
This photographic print is digitally printed on archival quality paper with vivid color and exceptional detail, suitable for museum or gallery display.
