African Leader Visists the South. President and Mrs. Sekou Toure of the new Republic of Guinea graciously gave EBONY photographer Moneta Sleet Jr., a half hour's time out of their busy schedule in Chicago to take the striking cover for this month's magazine. Racing against the clock with the assistance of managing editor Herbert Nipson and associate editor Frances Mitchell, Sleet made 19 exposures in the allotted time despite the fact that almost half the official party had crowded into the studio to watch. Mr. Toure's country is so new that it is not contained in the large map of Africa used as a background.
This photographic print is digitally printed on archival quality paper with vivid color and exceptional detail, suitable for museum or gallery display.
