Leontyne Price Opens New Met As 'Cleopatra'Leontyne Price, possessor of what has often been called "the voice of the century," is shown as Cleopatra in Samuel Barber's opera, Antony And Cleopatra, during the most triumphant moment of her honor-studded career. by being chosen to open the new Metropolitan Opera in New York's mammoth Lincoln Center, Miss Price was officially recognized as the leading prima donna of the music world. A story tracing her life from Laurel, Miss., to the Met stage is featured in this issue.
This stretched canvas print is the result of sophisticated digital printing technology in which the image is printed directly onto an artist-grade, 100% cotton canvas. The canvas is then expertly stretched around 1.5" wooden bars and carefully finished with hand-painted edges. An acrylic coating protects the stunning giclee print from dust, moisture and fading. Watermark will not appear on finished product.
