Ted Goerschner’s luminescent, atmospheric works dreamily express the distinctive moods of the near and distant lands that he paints. Raised in New Jersey and New England, Goerschner was originally a housepainter and a lobster fisherman who got his break in the art world when he won the Rockport Art Association’s Gold Medal of Honor in 1977, and was subsequently featured in “American Artist Magazine.” Seeking to uplift viewers with his work, Goerschner, who also teaches, believes in a less-is-more approach to painting that allows observers to use their imaginations. Goerschner’s work has won numerous distinguished awards, and has been featured in many national art publications.
