About the Art

Inspired by nature and primitive art, Carol Grigg uses her paintings to impart enlightenment about the Southwest and its Native America heritage. Part Cherokee, Grigg creates eloquent, ethereal watercolor washes and uncluttered images of Native Americans, horses and other animals surrounded by expansive white spaces evocative of ancient cave art and the work of early Eastern cultures. Self-taught, Grigg strives to express love, healing power and spiritual unity in images that convey a profound kinship between the earth, humans and animals. Compelled to teach through her art, Grigg often repeats the same images in order to communicate her message to more people.

          Comments:

I re-purposed 2 frames - painted a gray metallic color and was going to give to friend who is Native American. I am embarassed to say - they must stay with me. The frames were too tall so I ended up putting about a 3 inch band of black poster board across the bottom - it only added to the beauty. Love the pics.

[...] Good quality paper, good color, wonderful art and it looks great in the frame. I wanted to be sure the art didn't look like a cheap poster in a cheap frame...instead it looks like fine art in a custom frame (frame was [$]).
