Articles on cover: When Passion Flares Up" "What Every Girl Wants" Of Russian descent, Victor Tchetchet was born in 1891 and worked prolifically as an artist for pin-up calendars and pulp magazines. His exquisitely rendered pastel portraits graced the covers of the most popular magazines of the day, such as True Story, Liberty, Photoplay and The American Weekly. (By the way, these magazines were priced from 5 to 15 cents per copy!) One of the hallmarks of Tchetchet’s style was the sultry eyes of his female subjects. Tchetchet died in 1974.
