Published in February, 1937 by Macfadden Publications. Cover: Robert Taylor MGM. Painted by Georgia Warren. Born in 1899, Georgia Warren was a successful magazine illustrator, producing covers for a variety of popular magazines, including True Romance, Photoplay and Screenland. In the beginning half of the 20th century, many magazines did not credit the artist who produced an issue’s cover illustration. Ms. Warren was one of the very few artists whose name appeared along with their artwork. She is now a search word on E-Bay due to her highly-sought cover art. In 2011, one of her original oil paintings sold for an undisclosed record high. Ms. Warren died in 1983 in Boca Raton, Florida.
This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface.
