Watercolour on vellum of Cymbalaria muralis (ivy leaved toad flax) by Georg Dionysius Ehret. Ehret settled in England in 1736 and was employed in the Oxford Botanic Garden in 1750. He painted flowers for English patrons and also taught flower-painting, this work was originally part of the collections of the Duchess of Portland. This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
