Many people consider the P-51 Mustang the best fighter of World War II. Its combination of speed, range, maneuverability, and firepower gave it great versatility. Its use in all major theaters of the war included long-range high-altitude escort, strafing, and photo reconnaissance. This photograph taken July 20, 1944 shows four P-51 Mustangs from the 361st Fighter Group, Eighth Air Force, in escort formation in flight over France, all carrying auxiliary fuel tanks under wings. From top is P-51D "Lou IV," unnamed P-51D , P-51D "Buy American," and another unnamed P-51B.
This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.
