    Nice tapestry, unexpected hardware

      Tapestry is great. Hanging apparatus turned out to be a fancy curtain rod assembly. This was not good for us, as it has big, fancy finials that wouldn't work in our room; and because the rod attaches to the wall with stalks that stick out about 4 inches, and we wanted our tapestry to hang flat on the wall. So I gave it away. I instead bought a length of aluminum tubing at the hardware store, put some screws into a couple of studs, and attached the rod to the screws with wire. This did the trick, and we now have a nice, flat-hanging tapestry in our breakfast nook, as desired.

        Tapestry is lovely. Hanging rod is for draperies, not tapestry. It extends 3" from wall, which means you could easily walk into the heavy weighted rods in the bottom of the tapestry. We are working on purchasing our SECOND replacement rod, still looking for one that allows the tapestry to hang flat against the wall. Rod described to go with this tapestry is not as advertised.

          Claude Monet (1840 – 1926), the founder of Impressionism, was one of the most influential landscape painters in the history of art. Born in Paris, Monet was enrolled in the studio of Glenyre, where he met Renoir, Sisley, and Bazille, who became the core of the Impressionist group. Painting outdoors, he broke the tradition of portraying a subject literally by conveying the fleeting effects of atmosphere, time of day, and season upon color and light. Eliminating black and gray from his palette, he represented natural color like a prism, breaking it down into its individual components, often painting a series of the exact same view under different light and weather conditions.
