Carolina Turtledove. Mourning Dove, (Zenaida Macroura) plate XVII from 'The Birds of America' (aquatint & engraving with hand-colouring), Audubon, John James (1785-1851) / Private Collection / Photo © Christie's Images / The Bridgeman Art Library
This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.

I patiently awaited this print as it was on back order and was anxious to have framed for my new bathroom. Upon receipt I noticed that the Giclee was actually a photocopy of a smaller print. The outline of the smaller print came through on my Giclee. I contacted art.com and was given the option of a photo replacement. The replacement I received today was NO different than the original item sent to me, another photocopy! I was so happy to have found an avenue for Audubon prints however I will have to look elsewhere due to the poor quality.
