Painting a blend of the fantasy, nostalgia and religious imagery, Marc Chagall (1887 – 1985) intended his paintings to be odes to love. Despite an impoverished upbringing in a Shtetl in Russia, Chagall filled his canvases with happy, optimistic references to his childhood which he denoted in delicate lines and bright colors. After living in Paris he moved to the United States during World War II, where he depicted the plights of Jewish martyrs and refugees. In a rare occurrence, his sensitive, spiritual paintings were exhibited at the Louvre during his lifetime.

I have always loved this painting, and since I can't afford the real thing, this print is a joy to have. The color quality is very good. It's a large, odd size, and I wanted to use it immediately without much added expense so for now I tacked it to a black foam core board and left a black border around it. It's very light so I used the 3M velcro stickers to hang it. Simple- and it makes me happy every time I look at it!

It's beautifully framed & fits the space & room perfectly. This is one of my favourite paintings & now I can spend hours scrutinising the detail from the comfort of my sofa.

Everything is great with the print and I am happy with it. However, I do find the man's head a bit darker in the print which loses some of the detail.
