Josef Fenneker’s “Carnival at Marmorhaus” is a fiesta of motion, warm adobe colors and high-spirited fun. A key figure of Berlin Theater through the 20s and 30s, Fenneker is acclaimed as Germany’s most important stage designer, and is also noted for film and opera posters. “Carnival at Marmorhaus” will enliven any room with its enchanting, celebratory spirit.

This giclée print delivers a vivid image with maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are “sprayed” onto high-quality paper. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. The high-quality paper (235 gsm) is acid free with a smooth surface.
The Artist
Josef Fennekker was Germany’s most important stage designer in the 20s and 30s, as well as a noteworthy film and opera poster designer. His works are lively and full of motion, conveying the emotional high-spirited festiveness of a carnival including its dark, mysterious and dramatic side with fun zeal. Besides his theater work, Fenneker was directly involved in creating the fantastical fairy tale art for Berlin’s Luna Park and applied his graphic art and illustration knowledge to art magazines and books.
