Emma Thomson’s “Felicity” character, a fairy painted with carefree, gleeful, childlike simplicity, who has a little girl’s zeal for shopping, the beach, ice skating and hot chocolate with whipped cream and also grants wishes with a wave of her glittery wand. Thomson showed artistic aptitude when she drew three-dimensional houses when she was 4 and later created characters for several greeting card publishers which were licensed worldwide. Feeling artistically stifled, she became a freelance artist and designed the “Felicity Wishes” images. Felicity is now one of the most successful character licenses in the world.
