About This Piece
The Art
Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973), the pioneer of Cubism, created an astounding 20,000 paintings, prints, sculptures and drawings during his lifetime, including “The Dog.” Thought to be a portrait of his beloved dachshund, Lump, it is the most well-known of his animal drawings. Much of Picasso’s work was bold and complex, but he always drew animals, which he adored, with a gentle hand. Picasso also applied this minimalist style to his drawings of doves, flowers, butterflies and owls.

This art print displays sharp, vivid images with a high degree of color accuracy. A member of the versatile family of art prints, this high-quality reproduction represents the best of both worlds: quality and affordability. Art prints are created on paper similar to that of a postcard or greeting card using a digital or offset lithography press.
The Artist
Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973) was an artistic virtuoso who co-founded Cubism, and produced an astounding 20,000 paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures during his brilliant 70-year career. Picasso’s unparalleled body of work was so vast, and its phases so unique, that art historians have divided it into specific periods. A child prodigy, Picasso took advanced classes at the Royal Academy of Art in Barcelona when he was only 15. His revolutionary Cubist works, with their distorted shapes and fragmented forms, established art as a genre that does not need to literally represent reality. Zealously embracing every medium from primitive art to sketches to Surrealism, Picasso had an unrivaled influence upon 20th century art.

i wouldnt buy this again
This was not the picture I expected, but as it would seem that it would cost me than the picture is worth to return it, it will have to go to a charity shop.

I give four paws and a tail
As I said this is a favorite work of art, I have always wanted it, but I never knew exactly what I wanted to do with it....then it came to me....I knew I didn't want to distroy canvas, but I knew where I was going to put it required a bit of trimming....thankfully, you have such a wonderful array of selections, whether print, canvas, photo, etc. I opted for print, price was great, and you even offered up suggestions on framing, matting, which though I didn't use, did inspire me for something else. I don't feel bad about trimming it, because I did buy the print version, and it's perfect in its new rame and home.
