About This Piece
The Art
The buoyant collage of textured shapes in Marlene Healey’s “Point of Light” appears to be in motion as shadows and light play off the multihued, textured surfaces. Balancing textural abstractions with realistic forms, Healey builds layers of paint to create a dramatic visual impact. In addition to painting, Healey has expressed herself artistically through costume design, silk screening, etching, mono printing, mosaics and beadwork.

To create this stretched canvas print, your image is printed directly onto an artist-grade cotton canvas and expertly stretched around 1.5" wooden bars. An acrylic coating protects the high-quality giclée print from dust, moisture and fading. Finished with hand-painted edges, this stretched canvas print provides an artistic look with depth and texture.

The Artist
Marlene Healey commands attention with artworks abounding in luxurious, elegant colors and textures. Spontaneously layering paint in these textural pieces with abstract designs, Healy allows the final image to emerge without a preconceived form. Integrating Neoclassical, Impressionist and Surrealist styles into her art, Healy imparts it with advanced color, texture and composition techniques culled from her fashion and costume design background. Healy also works in other artforms, including etching, silkscreening, African dance, mono printing, performance art, beadwork and mosaics.
