This giclée print offers beautiful color accuracy on a high-quality paper (235 gsm) that is a great option for framing with its smooth, acid free surface. Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto the paper’s surface creating natural color transitions.

About the Art

Edward Hopper (1882 – 1967) was an American painter known for his melancholy depictions of alienation in everyday life. Eerily realistic, his stark urban and rural scenes are a desolate montage of deserted streets, half-empty theaters, isolated railroad tracks and dreary rooming houses. Originally aspiring to be a Naval architect, Hopper rapidly rose to the status of America’s foremost Realist. Portraying scenes in New York and New England, Hopper underscored their grim nature with sharp lines, large, impersonal shapes, flat expanses of color and hard angles. Although known for his oil paintings, Hopper was also an adept watercolorist and printmaker whose later works shared structural similarities with geometric abstraction.

Exorbitant delivery costs

About Me Midrange Shopper

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Visually Appealing

Cons

  • Smaller Than Expected

Purchase Reason

  • Decoration

Product was fine and although size was as ordered did think it was a little small. Perhaps should have paid more attention to actual size of picture rather than size including border.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery cost far to steep. Pictures took a long time coming considering postal charge and tracking was useless as parcel was delivered by different courier from the link provided by art. Will not use this site again as competition offers free delivery

Colors were dull and not nearly as vibrant as the original, nor as other prints that I've seen. I was also assured that the glass was non-reflective, but that was not the case. In fact, between the dull colors and the reflective glass, I couldn't even see the print at all!

    Comments:

use this product in a small bedroom turned into a TV room. Its above a grey couch so the colors appealed to me besides of course the subject matter. Darker than expected by a Hopper never disappoints.

This picture will be part of a complementary group of Hopper's works. Again, the framing process was made quite easy and affordable.
