In this gouache, Zelda painted Times Square in New York City at night. Her city scenes of New York and Paris were painted from memory and are romantic evocations of her happiest times with her husband, F Scott Fitzgerald. Zelda often indicated street life with symbols: top hats, umbrellas, caps, wine glasses and gloves. In her cityscapes Zelda creates riotous worlds, sometimes unstable but full of drama and pageantry. Her compositions are reminiscent of stage sets upon which dancers float above the earth. Original size of "Times Square" is 13 12" x 17 58"
This premium giclée print, an upgrade from the standard giclée print, is produced on thick (310 gsm), textured watercolor paper with the same vivid colors, accuracy, and exceptional resolution giclée prints are known for. The standard for museums and galleries around the world, giclée is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are “sprayed” onto a high-quality paper. The smooth transitions of color gradients make giclée prints appear much more realistic than other prints.
